    what might begin from here

..And perhaps, even here, in the smallest ways, you are allowed to look forward to creating new rhythms.

You are allowed to look forward to creating new memories. Whether you’ve been thinking about the future could be in very specific detail, or you can’t imagine it all, or you’re somewhere in between, you’re allowed to start right here. Thinking about what good might happen in the future doesn’t mean you’re ignoring the present. It doesn’t mean that you’re expecting everything to be perfect. You already know that there are mountains in this landscape called life, and there will be time for you to climb those mountains. You also know that there are rivers and flower fields and gentle winds in this landscape, too. Yes, you’ve been many places in this life, but you haven’t been everywhere. You’ve learned a lot on this journey so far, and yet still, there will be more for you to discover. You’ve met many different kinds of people so far, but there are still many more you might meet. And knowing this, you are free to believe there is still room for you to create new rhythms. There is still room for you to make new memories. There is still room for you to make new memories. – Morgan Harper Nichols

  • Luna Moth: for the possibility that belongs, a poem

Luna Moth: for the possibility that belongs, a poem

One season of life can feel like the whole story while it is happening, especially when that season lasts a long time. But perhaps a season is still only one part of a much longer life…This poem is a way into the question of what it could mean to simply stay with that difference between what feels complete in the moment and what may still exist beyond it.

    perhaps, after so long,
there is still more to you.
    the parts of your aliveness
that became much harder to feel
    still carry that depth,
and even inside the deepest nights,
    something in you
    has somehow remained here.
there are still whole ways of living
    you have not reached yet.

in a life that has known many seasons,
    may possibility belong here, too.
    may life become wider, deeper,
    and more spacious
than the way one season feels.
may there be room for you
    to discover what else
    can still be possible.
    may that possibility find you
    in forms you recognize.
