For Re-Emergence

Deer: for re-emergence (a poem)

perhaps, after all the hiding away,
this landscape still remembers you:
and the parts of your aliveness that went quiet
to avoid being “too much”
are remembering how to move again…
you are noticing the pulse
beneath the surface-level.
the liveliness you thought
you had lost forever ago
is something you can still build upon today.

so here’s to slowly tracing
the return of
capacity
for
movement
joy
growth
…something living still exists.
here is the ground.
start here.
